Keilini LightBulb Security Camera Review
Price checked August 6, 2026. Prices can change; the retailer page is final.
TL;DR
The Keilini is the only bulb camera I tested that I left installed after the review period. It screws into a normal E27 socket, covers 360° horizontally and 90° vertically, and the alerts are specific enough that I actually read them. At the discounted price it is the easiest recommendation in this category.
Who it suits
- ✓Renters who cannot drill holes or run cable
- ✓Porch, garage, driveway and hallway coverage
- ✓People who refuse to pay a monthly monitoring fee
- ✓Anyone who has already given up on a fiddly camera once
Who should skip it
- ✗Sockets with no power or a dead fixture
- ✗Buyers who insist on buying through Amazon
- ✗Sites needing 24/7 continuous professional recording

Materials and build
The shell is a matte ABS with a metal E27 base, and the seam between the fixed bulb section and the moving camera head is tight enough that dust has not collected in mine. The gimbal has a little resistance when you nudge it by hand, which is what you want — a loose head drifts over time and ends up pointing at your gutter. The eight LEDs around the lens are split between white and infrared, with a light sensor beside the lens that decides which set fires.
First impressions
I screwed it into a garage fixture, and the head did its calibration sweep before I had even opened the app. Pairing took one QR scan. My honest first reaction was that the image was better than a $39 device has any right to be, and my second was that the pan control is genuinely usable from a phone — you drag, it follows, there is no half-second lurch that overshoots the thing you were trying to look at.
How it performs in real positions
In the garage it replaced a bulb I never used and gave me a view of both the side door and the workbench. On a covered porch fixture it handled a week of rain without a hiccup, though I would not put it in a fully exposed socket. Indoors it doubles as a night light and a check-in camera; the LED brightness is controlled separately from the camera, so you can keep the lens live with the light off.
The evidence from testing
Over three weeks I logged 61 motion events. 54 were real (people, cars, the neighbour's cat), 7 were false, mostly branch shadows at dusk. Night clips at roughly 15 feet were readable enough to identify a face I already knew; at 30 feet it becomes 'someone in a dark jacket', which is normal for this class of device. Two-way audio has a short delay, so speak in complete sentences rather than trying to hold a conversation.
Maintenance and durability
Wipe the lens ring every couple of months — the LEDs attract dust and dusty IR looks like fog on the recording. If you use a microSD card, format it in the app rather than on a computer. The head has survived a couple of hundred motorised sweeps in my testing with no grinding noise.
Price, guarantee and where to buy
List price is $129 and the current official-store promotion brings it to $39 with free shipping and a money-back guarantee. It is sold only through the official Keilini store, which is inconvenient if you are an Amazon loyalist but does mean you are not gambling on a third-party reseller shipping a knock-off.
